Sakabe-Mori Aki is associate professor at Faculty of Law, Department of Political Science, Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan. She also works as a member of Compass Voice -External Expert Network of Japan Coast Guard appointed by the Commandant of the Japan Coast Guard since 2025. She serves as adjunct research fellow at the Center for Maritime and Safety Study of Japan Coast Guard Academy. She studied at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) (2005) and Renmin University of China (2007-2008). She obtained Ph D in political science from Doshisha University. Her research interests include maritime and land border disputes involving China and foreign and security issues in the Indo-Pacific.
