Etsuyo Michida is a Professor at the Faculty of Global Liberal Studies, Nanzan University. She serves as a member of several committees: the Biomass Sustainability Working Group for the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Trade (METI) and Agency for National Resources and Energy; the Academic Advisory Council for the United Nations Forum for Sustainability Standards (UNFSS); and the Energy Committee of the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan Inc. She holds a PhD in Economics from Kobe University. Her research focuses on regulations and standards related to sustainability, trade, and development. Her publications include The Diffusion of Public and Private Sustainability Regulations: The Responses of Follower Countries (Edward Elgar, 2021) and Regulations and International Trade: New Challenges for Sustainability in East Asia (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017).
