The 197th Diplomatic Roundtable, co-hosted by the Japan Forum on International Relations and two other organizations, was held on the theme of “Economic Interdependence and National Security: Thoughts on Japan’s Strategy”, with Mireya Solís, Director of the Center for East Asia Policy Studies/Senior Fellow in the Foreign Policy program at Brookings Institution, as the guest speaker. Mireya Solís, Director of the Center for East Asia Policy Studies/Senior Fellow in the Foreign Policy program at Brookings Institution, gave a Roundtable talk on “Economic Security”, “U.S.-China Confrontation”, “Japan’s Steps Toward Economic Security”, “Japan‘s Economic Security Strategy: Semiconductors”, and “Japan’s Economic Security Strategy: Export Controls”, followed by a lively Q&A session with the attendees.
